Let me begin by first apologizing to those of you who have left me notes, comments, or questions over the past few weeks. I have been absent for DA for an extended period of time due to real life priorities, and the stress doesn't look as though it is about to relent. While I will try to get back on top of my deviations and replies here, it will be slow-going and I can't promise to be around regularly.
As well as rushing to meet deadlines for my animation, I have also been organizing and setting up the LASALLE Show with my classmates, and as class representative for 2D animation I have been required to make a daily appearance at my college. The LASALLE Show doubles as a showcase to display the best works amongst the different faculties of the college, as well as being a graduation show for those of us in the 3rd year, which I am. Honour Amongst Thieves
has received a special display right at the entrance to the animation gallery, and I was occupied for the better part of the week just trying to organize all of my images into a presentable display.
For anyone within Singapore considering LASALLE as a university possibility, the show is still open until May 5th, and I will be gallery sitting from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. this coming Monday, in the animation show.

While our actual graduation ceremony at LASALLE isn't until September, I have unofficially graduated, and as such I am also beginning the transition from student to employee. I have spent the past few weeks exploring possible job opportunities, and am busy with a private series of commissions I can't reveal more about at this time. I have also spent the past week or so searching for a place of my own, as my dad and stepmom will be moving to a smaller apartment in a part of Singapore that doesn't afford easy access to the main city. Now begins the long and arduous process of culling 21 years of accumulated crap into a small enough pile to fit into my own room, which I will be leasing from a landlady, as I can't afford to rent an entire flat by myself just yet. But it's still my first taste of life beyond the nest, so to speak.
This means I have very little time for myself, and very little time for Honour Amongst Thieves
at the moment. I am determined to finish it properly (all scenes, proper sound effects, backing music, outlined and colored) within at least the next year, possibly two, depending on whether or not a certain work proposition falls through or not. It is a major project for one person to attempt alone, especially once I'm juggling a job at the same time, but I'd like to see it done and entered into film competitions around the world.
In the meantime, I have made some changes to things around here, in order to prepare myself better for the "professional" world. DeviantArt is now my "unofficial" website - it is, and always has been, my personal gallery first and foremost, and has up to five years of history. Many comments and criticisms made in the archives of this account no longer reflect who I am now, and so I have a new "official" website to showcase only my best work, here:
The Art of Shamine A. King
Likewise, I have recently gone through and removed many old videos from my YouTube account, which I consider to reflect poorly on who I am today. From now on my YouTube account will only be for "unofficial" projects, such as the HAT podcasts, old Clopin/AC/Amnesia videos, and other miscellaneous silly videos that I make from time to time. I now have a Vimeo account for "officially" hosting my animations, including all animatics and showreels, through to finished shorts. You may find it here:
Shamine King Animations
Unfortunately due to some uploading issues not all of the videos appear in chronological order, but those of you in countries such as Germany or Pakistan who had difficulty viewing my previous animations should now be able to watch them. Unfortunately, any miscellaneous videos on YouTube still using GEMA-blocked music (such as the Louis/James Christmas video
) will still be blocked in some countries, but a quick Google search should herald some ways to bypass the system if you are so inclined.
'Cecilia', by animation from Year 2, Semester 2, should now be viewable.
My animation major required that I submit three full minutes of animation for submission, still in sketch-form at least. I have not had the opportunity to touch up some of the glaring errors that annoy me in the "final" version, but due to the aforementioned complications in my schedule lately, I think I have refrained from uploading what I do have long enough. I have already edited most of the scenes to flow better from one cut to the next, and have included more backgrounds, but will wait until I have more to show before updating the video again. In the meantime, enjoy some (FINALLY!)
scenes with dialogue from Santiago de la Cruz.

Again, I apologize for my absence ... and for this horrendously lengthy Journal Entry, but hopefully this will explain some of the changes going on around here right now. Thank you all for your support thus far, you have been instrumental in my determination to see things through, and to continue Honour Amongst Thieves
beyond college. I hope that once things settle down I will be able to frequent DA more regularly again.--Sak
