oh dear god.... I can oddly relate. I played a French boucanier a few years ago at Faire, and he went from "extremely disgruntled ex-retiree, who was formally vicious and infamous" to "pressganged retiree/ ship's whipping boy" I was routinely flogged in the stocks, and made a point of singing jante Alleueta (and yes I knowe the spelling is fucked, I have no idea how to spell it,) in a bored tone while in the stocks on occasion. our captain literally began screaming "no no no" at one point and she ordered me to be flogged. oh God that pirate crew was a mess. lol good times.
