More in the vein of exploring the personalities of my characters Commodore James Hunter and Captain Louis Despatis for my upcoming animation.

This time I dabbled with the possibility of both James and Louis starting as simple Captains, merely allied to opposing nations - the British and French navy respectively. As James's rank gets progressively higher, so too do the methods Louis employs to get his attention get louder and more drastic.

Here I also began toying with the possibility of making the characters in the British faction fairly "normal" and spartan looking, whereas Louis's troupe of rag-tag privateers and the brigands he befriends on the pirate island of Tortuga come in far more varied shapes and sizes.

Louis seems very puckish, but harmless (in the sense that he avoids bloodshed). Especially in his dealings with Commodore Hunter. Poor sucker.
