Finally finished with this one, and by finally I mean
finally. I sketched this comic back in April this year on a whim to draw a kind of B-rate horror flick with Malfatto. I've been working on it on-and-off since then. Seven months, two pens, and copious amounts of Alice Cooper later it's finally done. Unfortunately some of the art is older than others, so it was difficult to keep the style consistent towards the end.
I've drawn a lot of gag comics with an incredibly amiable, loose, and overall out-of-character Malfatto in the past and wanted to draw one that depicted him more as how I picture him canonically. The aim was to create a comic that could read without words. I also wanted to leave it open-ended, so you can come to your own interpretations about what happens after Faustina blanks out, what Malfatto's intentions were, and whether it was all a dream in the first place.
03 and 05 Pilot felt pens and BM Copic brush pens over 28 pages in a Moleskine journal. Inspired by the wood-cuttings of Gustave Doré. Enjoy.--Sak
